Selecting an engineering course is one of the most critical decision an engineering aspirant has to make. The decision made in the beginning will either make you happy rest of your life or you end up changing your subject after spending 4 years of engineering. General information about engineering courses is provided here and posts related to best engineering courses to help students choose based on industry trends is presented separately.
I tried to collect and analyze information about engineering courses degrees and top colleges to study. I focused on kind of job you will be offered, average salary, best or leading companies and top institutes offering these courses and admission procedure.
India today published an article saying “Best engineering courses 2009”, but I think it was an article by some journalist or editor rather than an Engineer himself. Most of the courses they mentioned were never offered in India at B.Tech or M.Tech level for example Energy Engineering, Nuclear Engineering etc. This makes most of the courses mentioned in the article irrelevant for B.Tech and M.Tech students.
In this collection of posts I tried to cover the traditional engineering branches and give a brief introduction and give information about job prospects and industry and student trends instead of mentioning name that we never heard when we go for engineering admissions. The engineering course to choose from are listed below;
Engineering Courses: Future, Prospects
Aeronautical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
Biotechnology or Bioengineering
Computer Science and Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering
Materials and Metallurgical Engineering
I tried my best to collect and share information with many students here. If you have any questions, suggestions or more information worth sharing, please do not hesitate to write in comment box below.
