V NIT Nagpur M.Tech Admissions 2009

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology VNIT Nagpur is one of the first six Regional Engineering Colleges established by the Government of India and the Maharashtra State Government. This was established in 1960 with a huge 214 acres green campus with great infrastructure for engineering studies. This is also one of the institutes of national importance.

Courses: M.Tech in various departments.
Department of Civil Engineering: Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering
Department of Electrical Engineering: Integrated Power System,
Department of Electronics & Computer Science Engineering: VLSI Design, Computer Science Engineering.
Applied Mechanics: Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, Structural Engineering
Department of Mechanical Engineering: Heat Power Engineering
Department of Industrial Engineering: CAD-CAM
Metallurgy department: Process Metallurgy, Material Engineering
Architecture: Urban Planning

Eligibility: Admission to all M.Tech programs are preferentially done through GATE qualified candidates. The seats remaining vacant if any, after the admissions through GATE qualified candidates, are offered to non-GATE candidates on the basis of their merit in written test / interview conducted at respective departments of the Institute. Non-GATE candidates are not given any scholarship.
In addition 5 seats in each program (except Environmental Engg) are available for Sponsored candidates. For admission under Sponsored seats quota, the candidate must have post-degree two years experience in relevant Engineering / Architecture discipline and sponsorship certificate from the organization in which he /she is working.
