Civil engineering is one of the most traditional engineering studies in India. British started very good schools for civil engineering studies and successfully completed some of the best public projects like Ganga canal and India’s Railway network to name few.

In 2009, I completed B.Tech in Civil Engineering, but did not join core sector and joined one of the Tier I Software Company. This job I got through Campus Interview and did not wanted to go for higher studies as that time it was not feasible due to some family problems. Now I feel like quitting and going back to core sector as the work here I don’t find like some real work. I am good here at work and I understand things quickly too, but I don’t find any seriousness in the work here. I always wanted to do some real kind of job in which I will have some control over the things. Kindly guide me, shall I now go for M.Tech through GATE. I am even willing to prepare for GATE 2012. I know, I am a little late, but will work hard and cover up the things fast. Please guide me if I can get admitted in any coaching institute for GATE preparation. i think that your suggestion is not good. you studying in civil. so you go to that field, and eager to that field only. don’t think about any other fields, you can study other civil training courses. survey training(total station), irrigation in structures(future in civil fields).
