Position of engineering colleges are based on the last rank admitted to the engineering college. In general, top rank students admitted to colleges will have good quality students and eventually leading to good results and placements opportunities for them.
I considered the last ranks admitted to Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). In case of tie I further considered Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Civil Engineering (CE) ranks as well. Usually top engineering colleges in Pune, Maharashtra in particular and other states in general trends remain same and every college gives its best to at least remain in the same position or grow to a higher position. It is also noted that usually colleges after top 15 doesn’t matter much as every other college tend to provide similar facilities that are governed by AICTE and NBA bodies.
