GREAT… AGAIN I APPRECIATE MOHIT FOR HIS VIEWS…… NOT ONLY BIT MESRA , IF U HAVE DONE M.TECH FROM IITS ,. ITS STILL OF NO USE.

IF U DO PART TIME M.TECH WITH THE JOB , IT WOULD BE FRUITFUL.

I don’t recommend students to join BIT Mesra for M.Tech. Join it only, if you are unable to get a job or admission in other good colleges.

At present, I am doing B.E. in CS from BIT. I have to face a huge competition while taking admission in 2007, which is not applicable for M.Tech; even my professors are telling me to join Yahoo India (I got placed in 3 other companies of which Yahoo is highest) instead of doing M.Tech

BIT Mesra is great for B.E. but not for M.Tech. A fact, I want to share with all of you. If you are thinking that after doing M.Tech, your package will improve instantly, then you are at the wrong side.

You are only benefited in long run i.e. after 5 years but as a fresher, equal importance is given to B.Tech & M.Tech students in industries. Reason: Only 4 or 5 (out of 5*8=40) subjects that are taught in our Graduation level is of industrial importance & again 2 or 3 in M.Tech.

If you want to go for research or want to become a professor, go for M.Tech else M.Tech is useless for industries in short run. Even companies like Microsoft never permits Masters student to appear in their campus drive. Microsoft had provided 10.5 lakhs to B.E. students in our college but rejected M.Tech student at the the begining. They were not permitted to appear in the written round also.

Companies like Infosys permit M.Tech students in their campus drive & there is just 10% (Upto 50K) difference in the package of a B.E. & an M.Tech student. Again, Google demands 75% throughout career & it is very tough job to secure distinction at Post-Graduate level. Again, package for Graduate & Post-Graduates are same, with a difference of about 10%.

So, I will recommend not to do M.Tech, if you have a great job in hand.
