swetha, its good u resolved to prepare for gate at a really early stage. u have a lot of time so u can study the subject and enhance ur interest in the subject rather than just preparing for the exam, my suggestion is that prepare from text books of standard authors and build ur basics in every subject.when u feel bored u try to solve previous gate problems to understand the examiner’s expectations,keep a standard gate preparation book with you and refer it when u r free..and most important thing is that dont force ur brain to study.keep regular study hours but give freedom to ur mind to study whatever it wants. and know to respect ur brain i.e., dont neglect any of ur doubts, however small they may be..dont feel shy to ask any one.. get all ur doubts clarified. build the subject and the rank will follow u.. by baba ranchod das

i am studying in nit warangal.. i want to tell about the real m tech scene… there is no demand of any m tech people im any company.. even the companies that come to iit campuses they are only for btech people.. only a few companies are there offering a max package of 4.5-5lacs pa to mtech persons.. all the m tech studying in iit s even are preparing for psu s..so there is no point doing mtech..for all those who writes that there is lot of scope for m tech from iit/nit are actually tied up with some gate coaching centers… in this way there sending students and earning commissions.. be wise enough stay in your home and prepare hard for psu s and crack it…its simply waste to do mtech in india…no matter what college you get
sir i want to know how preference is given to the gate rank card at the time of applying to iits as it has validity of 2 years.
