Dr. B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar M.Tech admissions 2011

NIT Jalandhar invites application for Master of engineering in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Technology, and Biotechnology. Eligibility for admission:
A valid GATE score along with Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology with a first class or minimum 60% Marks or CGPA of 6.50 (on 10 point scale) or equivalent. However, if the seats remain vacant, candidates without GATE score shall be considered.
Candidates sponsored by UGC/AICTE approved technical institutes; industries/R&D organizations/national laboratories having same academic qualifications as required for M Tech (Full-Time) and preferably two-year’s experience of Full-Time job are eligible to apply for M.Tech programme. A valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR fellowship is not required.
For a foreign national candidate who applies through Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, or Indian Council of Cultural Relation, Govt. of India, are eligible to apply provided that they possess the same minimum qualifications as given for M Tech (Full-Time).

Selection procedure:
Admission to M Tech (Full-Time) programmes will be based upon the merit of GATE scores (strictly). All candidates are required to report in the respective department as per schedule. In case, seats remain vacant after admitting GATE qualified candidates, then candidates without GATE score shall be considered for admission to the respective programme. These Candidates will have to appear in a written test in the respective department as per schedule. Admission to the non-GATE qualified candidates shall be made based upon their performance (merit) in the written test.
