After writing posts like which is the best engineering course and Engineering courses prospect and future, I was asked by many parents to write about good engineering course for girls.
If you look at my series of posts on Engineering courses prospects and future, I clearly mentioned the scope of every engineering course with core companies and also stated the every engineering filed have good opportunities provided you work hard and be sincere. Apart from this I would like to recommend that the courses for the girls can be in the below priority.
- Computer Science and IT
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Biotech or Bioengineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
All the above courses have both teaching, lab experiments and job are within the building and you don’t need to go out for educational reasons. Whereas other engineering course like Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum Engineering, even if you get a in-house job, for you course work one need to work outside without thinking about weather and environment.
For the above said courses you get ample and well paid opportunities in teaching as well as research and Industry, which usually girls prefer.

im from bangalore n my cet counselling is in a few days… looking at the seat selections i am not likely to get a seat for EC or CS … but id like to keep my options open n take either electrical or IT or IS or if not these mechanicalmy main objective is to take up a good course in the best college available to me at the spot n change to EC or CS or EEE in the future but if i am un able to do so i will be stuck with the course i have… is this a good idea?? to prefer course or to prefer college is the question… please write back to me with in 2 days… please

I got a friend did BE in Electrical Engg .
There are ample opportunities for girls in this field as power sector is on boom .
My suggestion would be as u go with EEE after completing Engg or in parallel with it you can get through some of the design courses …..
And u will be a better design Engg …

sir, i finished my 12th nd am waiting for counselling… i want to study in a good college, so i am giving les prefernce to course, howevr am intrested in civil, cant girls get into planning section in civil engineering ?
My daughter is in 12th science,i m very confused which course is suitable for engineering.she has intrest in EC,but i heard that there is no more scope.so kindly reply on my given Id & my future plan is to send her abroad for further aducation . let me know. Thanks
EC is a very good course, you dont have to doubt it.
