OPTCL operates in the entire state with around 2600 regular manpower, deployed in different Grid Substations situated all over Odisha. OPTCL has a vast and robust transmission network of 165 sub-stations ranging from 132 KV to 400 KV and more than 14500 ckt kms of a transmission line.
OPTCL also undertakes various projects on behalf of the state and central Government. There are ongoing projects of the value of Rs. 2963 crores across all districts in Odisha predominantly augmenting the supply of electricity in backward districts. It has major plans for expansion by adopting newer and greener technologies.

category candidates. - Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen will be subject to the submission of a Discharge certificate issued by a competent authority.
- Reservation / Relaxation / Concession for Persons with Disability is subject to submission of a medical certificate in support of disability issued by the Government Medical Board.
- Provided that a person who comes under more than one category mentioned above shall be eligible for only one benefit of upper age relaxation, which shall be considered most beneficial to him/her.
- The date of birth entered in the High School Certificate Examination or equivalent Certificates issued by the concerned Board / Council shall only be accepted.
- Concession meant for SC, ST, and SEBC by birth are admissible to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) of Odisha State only.
OPTCL Recruitment through GATE 2024: Selection Process
The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the Electrical discipline paper of GATE 2024 & Personal Interview. Eligible candidates should have qualified and secured a valid score in the concerned paper of GATE 2024.
Candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Personal Interviews based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2024. Shortlisted candidates shall be able to download their interview call letter through the candidate login.

Applicants should have sound health and be physically & mentally fit in the Pre-Employment Medical Examination to be conducted as per the OPTCL norms and standards of Medical Fitness. Candidates selected under the PWD category must be within the prescribed normal range for all other physical standards.
OPTCL Recruitment through GATE 2024: Compensation Package
OPTCL offers a very attractive pay package and is one of the best in the Industry. During the training period, they shall be paid a stipend of Rs. 50,000/-.Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Pay Matrix:-Rs. 56,100- Rs. 1,77,500 (Level EE-2) Initial Basic Pay:- Rs.56,100/- after completion of the one-year training period. On successful completion of training, the candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Manager (Electrical ) in E-3 Grade in the Pay Matrix (level EE_2) of Rs. 56,100- Rs. 1,77,500/.
OPTCL Recruitment through GATE 2024: Service Agreement Bond
The selected candidates will be required to execute a service agreement bond to successfully complete the prescribed training period and thereafter serve the organization for at least three years. The amount of the bond is INR 3,00,000/- for all categories of candidates.
