Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) invites application for M.Tech and other master degree admissions in 2015. JNU is one of oldest university in India and also a central university, a university funded and managed by central government resources. Fees are next to nothing in central universities and also they conduct their own entrance exam for M.Tech admission.
JNU offer M.Tech in Computer Science and Computation Biology. The eligibility and other details are below. They conduct their own exam. If you don’t have a good GATE score or not expecting good gate scores don’t miss this.
M.Tech Computer Science Eligibility:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics or Operational Research or in any branch of Science or Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Engineering or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with at least 55% marks.
There are three universities apart from JNU giving admission based on M.Tech test conducted by JNU. They are Anna University, Chennai, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, Kerala (M.Tech. in Marine Biotechnology) 3. West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata.

There are two exams at their official website (one is JNUEE & other is entrance through JRF). If one has to pursue only MTech & not an integrated MTech/PhD programme in CS, then which one should he opt for ?
