IIIT Allahabad Selection to the BTech programme is done on the basis of JEE Main for Indian candidates and DASA for international candidates followed by the CSAB. The Students of B.Tech (IT, IT-BI and ECE) are admitted through JEE Mains and represent the top 0.5% of the candidates appearing for the examination.

- Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject with 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ ST candidates)
