HPCET 2024 – Himachal Pradesh Technical University conducts Common Entrance Test (HPCET) for admission to B.Tech., B.Pharmacy, B.Pharmacy (Ayurveda), M.Tech, M.Pharmacy, MCA, and MBA being offered by HPTU and colleges affiliated to it, deemed to be University, or other Universities established under the State Act or Constituent units thereto. Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is a state-level exam conducted for admission of candidates to undergraduate and post-graduate courses offered at various colleges of the Himachal Pradesh

The candidates are desirous to seek admission to various courses during 2024-25 are required to apply online only. Only those applicants, who apply online before the last date and satisfy the eligibility criteria, will be considered for admission.

HPCET 2024 Application Process

Step 1: Registration: Open the web HPCET and click the link “Application Form “Click Here to Apply for HPCET-2024” button. Fill in the following registration details in the “Account Registration Form” that will open on your system

  • Name
  • Username
  • Password
  • Confirm password
  • Date of Birth
  • Email address
  • Mobile number

A system generated Application Form Number will appear on the computer screen. The User Name and Application Number will also be sent to the given email ID. All applicants must note or keep a safe username and password for future reference.

Step 2: Fill out the Application Form: Click on the “Login” button and enter your username, password, and application number. Now enter the following details to fill application form:

  • Name of the Candidate
  • Father’s & Mother’s Name
  • Nationality
  • Aadhaar Card Number
  • Programme Applied For
  • Examination Centre
  • Category & Sub-Category 
  • Qualifying Exam Details
  • Permanent Address
  • Correspondence Address

Now, click on “Save & Continue”

Step 4: Verify email: The email address as entered by the candidate during the registration of the form will automatically appear. The candidate can edit his / her wrongly entered email ID. The system-generated OTP will be sent to the candidate’s email ID by clicking the button “Send OTP on Email”. On entering a valid OTP, you will see the webpage message of the Email verified successfully

Step 5: Upload Photograph and Signature: During this step, candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph and signature. Click on browse and select your photograph and signature in the required dimension/size and format mentioned in the brochure. After you have attached the images, click on the “Upload” button.

Step 6: Confirmation: The next stage of the HPCET application form is confirmation. The filled-in application form appears and the candidate has two options – Edit or Submit & Go for Payment. If you want to make any change in the application details, click on edit, otherwise go for a payment.

Step 7: Make Fee Payment: After confirmation of the details filled in the application form, the applicants will be automatically redirected to the page for fee payment.  Two modes of payment will be available and the following links will appear:

  • Offline link to generate PNB Challan” or,
  • “Online Fee Payment Link”

Select the mode of payment as per your convenience and make the payment to complete HPCET 2021 Application.

B. Tech (Lateral Entry)3 YrsA. The candidate Passed Minimum THREE years / TWO years (Lateral Entry)Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in ANY branch of Engineering and Technology.
B.  Passed  B.Sc.  Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40%   in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed 10+2 standard with Mathematics as a subject.
C. Provided that in case of students belonging to B. Sc stream, shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with the second year subjects.
D. Provided further that the students belonging to B.Sc. Stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma stream.
E. Provided further those students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE approved institution or B.Sc. degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, shall also be eligible for admission to the first year Engineering Degree courses subject to vacancies in the first-year class in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
F. Passed D. VOC. Stream in the same or allied sector.
However, the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned in A, B, C, E, and F above.

HPCET 2024 Documents Required for Counselling

  • Candidates who have obtained minimum cut of marks in National level test-2024 qualifying Examination are required to pay non-refundable application processing fee of Rs. 1550/- for candidates of the General category and Rs. 1400/- for candidates of SC/ST/BPL/EWS Categories before submission of the application online
  • The candidate must produce the following documents, in original, along-with one set of photocopies duly attested at the time of admission in the College
    1. Certificate of having passed the qualifying examination.
    2. Marks-sheet issued by the Board/University.
    3. Matriculation/Higher Secondary Part-I/Indian School Certificates showing the date of birth.
    4. National Level Entrance Examination/HPCET-2014 Score Card.
    5. Character Certificate from the Head of Institution last attended.
    6. Bonafide/domicile Certificate issued by the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate Executive Magistrate, if applicable.
    7. Reserved Category Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if applicable.
    8. Physically Challenged Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if applicable.
    9. Income Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if applied under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme.
    10. An undertaking/affidavit attested by the Executive Magistrate if applied under Beti Hai Anmol Scheme.
    11. Kashmiri Migrants and domicile certificate issued by Competent Authority, if applied under Supernumerary Kashmiri Migrant Quota.
    12. In case an intervening period/gap is involved, a certificate/affidavit issued by a Class- Gazetted Officer/Notary Public shall be required for the entire intervening period/gap showing candidate’s preoccupation after leaving the Institution last attended.
