GCET Eligibility Criteria 2024 – Age limit and Qualification

GCET Eligibility Criteria 2024 – Only the candidates who satisfy  GCET Eligibility Criteria 2024 can apply for the exam. The authority has the right to reject the application form of those candidates who don’t abide by the preset eligibility criteria. So candidates must ensure that they are meeting all the requirements as specified by the exam authority.

Candidates who have already passed/have appeared, or are appearing at HSSC (Std. XIIth Science) or equivalent examination, before the start of the academic session, are eligible to appear at GCET–23.

Nationality: Candidate should be Indian nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passports may apply for seats reserved under the NRI category

Age: Candidate to Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Science, B.V.Sc.&A.H. and Nursing must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2024

Valid Score (GCET-2024/NEET UG-2024/NATA): Candidate in Engineering and Pharmacy, must have appeared and obtained a valid score in GCET for the year of admission. GCET scores of the previous years shall not be valid.

For Medicine, Dentistry, BHMS(Homeopathy), BAMS(Ayurveda), Allied Health Sciences, B.V.Sc.&A.H. and Nursing Degree courses, an applicant must have appeared and obtained a valid score/rank at NEET UG-2024 conducted by NTA.

Qualifying Examination & Minimum Marks: An applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination, which in scope and standard, is deemed to be equivalent to the H.S.S.C. examination of Goa Board, and must have obtained the minimum percentage of marks in the specific subjects, as prescribed for the admission to respective professional courses

GCET eligibility criteria for different courses are given below in detail

B.E.The applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Biology/Technical Vocational and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Biology/Technical Vocational/Computer Science/Information Technology /Information Practices /Agriculture /Engineering Graphics/Business Studies, (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, and OBC only). OR passed Diploma (in Engineering &Technology) examination with atleast 45% marks (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, and OBC only)
B. PharmThe applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Physics & Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics/Biology subject
B.ArchNo candidate shall be admitted to Architecture course unless she/he has passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics subjects or passed 10+ 3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. No direct lateral admission is allowed at any other year/stage of B.Arch. course based on any qualification
MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, AHS & B.Sc. in NursingApplicant should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XIIth) examination of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English and secured not less than 50% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology took together. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST, and OBC only and 45% for applicants belonging to PwD category, for MBBS and BDS Course)
B.Sc. in NursingApplicants should have passed HSSC (qualifying exam) in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, and obtained a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for General Category, (40% aggregate marks in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and OBC category)

GCET Exam Merit List 2024

Eligibility and Merit List for the admissions of MBBS, BDS, BHMS (Homeopathy), BAMS (Ayurveda), AHS, B.V.Sc. &A.H. & Nursing courses shall be prepared based on the applicant’s performance at NEET 2023, using NEET UG-2023 AIR issued, as applicable. For these courses, eligibility and merit list criteria specified by the respective regulatory authority shall be applicable
