This is a good opportunity for Non GATE students to appear for this test and try some of the state universities for Master degree (M.Tech) admissions in Tamil Nadu. For admissions to some good university do visit M.Tech admissions 2010 and for private and state universities offering M.Tech visit M.Tech colleges in India.
Applications are invited for the TANCET 2010 to be conducted by Anna University Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamil Nadu on 29th & 30th May 2010, from candidates who seek admission to M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan and other master degree program. Degree Programmes in Tamil Nadu for the year 2010-2011 offered at University Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University Tirunelveli, Govt. Engineering, Arts and Science Colleges, Govt. Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, and Govt. Quota seats in self-financing Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges / stand alone Institutions. Some Universities and Self–Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of TANCET 2010.
Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test but, admission is subject to the Eligibility conditions of the admitting authority / University. (Let me do some research and get back what it means).
Eligibility conditions:
A B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree, B.Pharm / B.Sc. (Agri./Forestry/Horticulture/ Fishery) degree programme, Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.
Certificate holders and other similar certificate holders of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India are considered to be equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Degree programme only with 2 years industrial experience in the relevant field after successful completion of the course. An experience certificate is to be produced by the candidate.

Last date for Spot Registration and receipt of application (Registered through Internet) at Centre for Entrance Examinations, Anna University: 26.04.2010
Test for M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan: 30.5.2010 (Sunday) 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon
