Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology SVNIT Surat was established in 1961 with the support of Govt. of India. The institute is one among top engineering schools in India. The SVNIT campus is spread over 100 hectares with a perfect combination of infrastructure and education.


Course: M.Tech in different departments and M.Tech (Research)

Department of Civil Engineering and Department of Applied Mechanics: Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering, Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Planning, Planning, Water Resource Engineering
Department of Chemical Engineering: Chemical Engineering
Department of Computer Engineering: Computer Engineering
Department of Electrical Engineering: Industrial Electronics
Department of Electronics Engineering: Communication System
Department of Mechanical Engineering: CAD / CAM, Industrial Process Equipment Design, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Systems Design, Turbo Machines

Eligibility:
B.E./ B. Tech / B. Arch.* or equivalent degree in respective discipline with minimum of 50% aggregate (all semesters/years) marks or (CGPA 5.5) and A valid GATE score. Preference will be given to ‘better’ Score.

The admission will be given based on common merit list prepared as per following criteria for each basic discipline offering PG programmes.
100% weightage to GATE score.
The seat will be allotted based on merit of GATE Score and preference of Specialization given by the candidates

Commencement of receipt of application : May 12, 2009
Last date of receipt of applications : June 05, 2009
Details of eligible applicants department-wise : June 12, 2009
Date of counseling of eligible GATE candidates : June 18, 2009
Date of counseling/Test of eligible NON-GATE / Sponsored candidates: June 19, 2009
Declaration of results : June 22, 2009
Last Date of Payment of Fees and Deposits : June 26, 2009
Display of vacant seats Department wise : June 27, 2009
Up gradation of wait listed candidates : June 29, 2009
Last Date of Payment of Fees & Deposits for candidates from operation of wait list: July 03, 2009
Registration : July 22 & 24, 2009
Commencement of Semester : July 27, 2009
Late Registration with payment of late Fee : July 31, 2009
