Many students are mailing me because of NIT Rourkela and other NITs notification for sponsored and M.Tech by research programs.
This post is just to inform all of you that for the academic year 2010 – 2011 there will be a common counseling and admission for various M.Tech. programmes at National Institute of Technology at Agartala, Calicut, Rourkela, Suratkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal. Source NIT Calicut.
Please also refer for earlier post on Common admissions in different NITs. NIT Trichy will conduct a common admission process as last year and they will issue the application forms, which they have not announced yet. check here The six NITs common admission notice.
If they are waiting for other few NITs to join the process the application are expected to be issued in two weeks time otherwise applications are expected in next week.
I will update as soon as the notification comes. There is nothing to worry, no application for these NITs is being issued by this time. If you have any doubts please read the notification again and then if still have a question give a comment with the link to institute as a reference.

Rashmi: First try creating a new user and submit again otherwise write an email to mtech2010@nitt.edu explaining your problem or call NIT Trichy on 0431-2503010, 2503011 numbers. Dont miss it.

I have submitted my application on line on NIT trichy website and taken the print outs. But there was no option for Specialization and department to which you are applying ?? so whats the procedure?
Sachin: Its a common counseling and I think they will ask you at the time of admissions. Dont worry you will get a chance to choose your specialization.

Hello friends, I m doing M.Tech. Engineering Structures in NIT Warangal. I suggest all of you not to take admission in NIT Warangal, in any of the branch. The faculties are waste and management is worst. Placement for M.Tech. is very poor. For M.Tech. as well as B.Tech. education is very very bad, in B.Tech. placement is quite good, but for M.Tech. you should not hope for your placement here. I suggest all of you to get some feedback from the students of the college in which you want to get admission. And my suggestion to all NITs is that they should change their name from “National Institute of Technology” to “National Institute of Bachelor of Technology” as there is nothing for M.Tech. anywhere. NIT Warangal is having 7th rank in engineering colleges in India. Before coming here, I had quite high expactations for the college, but all is in vain. There is not a single thing in which you can be happy with the college, worst education, bad accommodation, bad mess facility, worst administration, everything is disgusting.
