PTU CET Punjab Technical University Combined Entrance Test Conducted by the I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University. Every year a huge number of students appear for this entrance test. PTU CET is conducted to get admission into various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses.
PTU CET is conducted to select candidates for various courses offered by Punjab Technical University (PTU) and its affiliated colleges. This exam is conducted to provide the seats in B.Tech, B. Pharm, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA & MCA Courses.

PTU CET is Commonly known as Punjab Technical University Common Entrance Test. It is a university-level entrance test. Punjab Technical University Common Entrance Test is conducted by I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), Jalandhar to get admission in various professional courses like B.Tech, B. Pharm, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA & MCA Courses.

PTU CET Application
- Application for PTU CET form will be available via online and offline modes. The candidates can apply for the application form in both ways.
- All the personal details of the candidate are to be filled in very carefully.
- The candidates (general)need to pay a payment of 500/ SC, ST candidates pay 250/ – at the PTU center for the application fee, and if the candidate is sending through DD the payment of 600/- is to be made.
- All the application forms will be accepted once the payment is made. If any error while filling out the application forms, then it might get rejected.
Mode of Payment
- Online: Candidates can pay the application fee through a Credit card/ Debit Card
- Offline: Candidates can also send a demand draft in favor of ‘Registrar, IKGPTU Payable at Jalandhar
PTU CET General Eligibility Criteria
General Eligibility Criteria for Admission to B.Tech, B. Pharm, B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA & MCA Courses for session.
- The minimum qualification should be 10+2 with the compulsory subjects like Mathematics, Physics and the optional subjects are computer science, chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology
- The candidate must have the minimum age of 17 years.
- The candidate must have 50% of marks in the core subjects.
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 1st Year of B.Tech
- Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by the central/state government
- Candidates should have compulsory subjects like Mathematics, Physics and the Optional subjects are Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Technical Vocational subject/Information Technology/ Informatics Practices /Agriculture /Engineering Graphics /Business Studies
- Candidates should obtain at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria for B.Arch
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 1st Year of B.Arch
- Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by the central/state government
- Candidates should have compulsory subjects like Mathematics, Physics and the Optional subjects are Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/Technical Vocational subject/Information Technology/ Informatics Practices /Agriculture /Engineering Graphics /Business Studies
- Candidates should obtain at least 50% marks
- Candidates should have a weightage of Marks secured in the Test and qualifying examination will be counted in the ratio of 50:50
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria for Pharmacy
Eligibility Criteria for Admission into Pharmacy 4 years course
- Candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by the central/state government
- Candidates who have passed a diploma in Pharmacy from an institute affiliated with the Punjab State Board or any other state board is also eligible
- Candidates should have compulsory subjects Physics and Chemistry
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria for B. Tech (Lateral Entry)
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 2nd & 3rd Year of B.Tech Lateral Entry
- Candidates who have passed the Diploma examination from an AICTE-approved institution and have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category)
- Candidates who have passed B. Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of Candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject shall be eligible to apply.
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria for MBA
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 1st year of MBA
- Candidates who have passed a bachelor’s degree of minimum three-year duration with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)
- Candidates with any disciplines from the University recognized by the (UGC) and with valid rank in C-MAT shall be eligible to apply for MBA course
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria for MCA
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to 1st Year of MCA
- Candidates who have passed BCA / Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or Equivalent Degree is eligible to apply for MCA course (or) Candidate Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University)
- Candidates should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech
- Candidates who have passed B.E. / B. Tech. degree in a relevant field with at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) marks in aggregate and with a valid GATE Score shall be eligible to apply for Postgraduate level M.Tech. course.
PTU CET Eligibility Criteria for M.Pharm
- Candidates who have passed B.Pharma with at least 55% (50% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category) marks in aggregate and with valid GPAT scores shall be eligible to apply for the Master’s program in Pharmacy (M. Pharma) course.
