Selection Procedure:
Selection is based on performance in GATE and Personal Interview of short-listed candidates. Marks obtained in GATE and in personal interview will have 70% and 30% weightage respectively. Personal interview will be held to test the following: (a) Motivation and aptitude for the programme (b) Oral communication skills (c) Skills in basic science, engineering, and relevant areas.
Personal interviews will be conducted at IIT Kharagpur.
Applicants with professional qualifications or with XE/XL paper in GATE and short-listed sponsored candidates need to qualify through personal interviews and/or test at IIT Kharagpur only.

I wish to know if there is any tentative date for IIT’s interview schedule. IIT Kharagpur asks for choosing interview dates. Which should I choose that interview dates of two different calls do not clash.

I am in final year of electronics engineering from mumbai university. I have a good gate rank too. I get my sem 8 results mostly by last week of August 2011. The admission criteria of IIT-B says that we should submit the qualifying exam degree certificate on or before 30th September 2011. I will only get my mark sheet and passing certificate by first week of September, But i will receive my degree certificate later. Am i eligible.
Vibhor: Dont worry about it. They mean that you should pass the qualifying degree before
September 30, 2011. You can submit a provisional degree too. The most important thing is to worry about admission. Make sure you have above 60% in your undergrad.
