Applications are invited for Post-graduate Engineering common Entrance Test (PGECET) for admission into Master of Engineering degree (M.E / M.Tech) and other master degree programs in Andhra Pradesh. A good opportunity for Non GATE students to appear for this test and try some of the state universities for Master degree (M.Tech) admissions in Andhra Pradesh, but unfortunately the candidates are considered after GATE candidates.

Candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of B.E / B.Tech/AIME / B.Pharmacy / B.Arch / B. Planning or equivalent examination for seeking admission into relevant PG courses and its Specializations/Graduate level Pharm-D (PB) course.

My GATE rank is 12000 in CSE.
It is mentioned in PGECET brochure that gate candidates will be given preference.
Also it is mentioned that seperate notification for gate candidates will be there later.
So , Do I have to appear in PGECET exam ?
Since I have low gate score, would appearing for PGECET (for NON-GATE) will increase my chances OR I will be given preference over any PGECET (NON-GATE) ranker even if he/she tops the PGECET ??

Its highly impossible for u to get the seat in univesity, but whereas u can check ur luck in other top university affiliated colleges like cbit,vignan etc

if u r gate qualified no need to appear for pgecet exam,u just have to register urself in special website designed for counseling thats all.that website is usually made active during the month of june.
otherwise if u r not qualified gate u need to write the pgecet exam,based on ur pgecet rank u can attend the counseling,but u need to provide proof of atleast 10 yrs residence of urs in ap

hello all, the people qualified in gate have to apply for pgcet (pgecet is exam, where as pgcet is counseling for both gate and pgecet i.e. non gate students)counseling, whose notification is not yet released.
it will be released in the month of june i think..the application has to be filled and then submitted to OU. then when the pgcet counseling starts in sep/nov, those candidates who have applied to pgcet are only eligible.

According to the AICTE guidelines the GATE qualified students will be allowed to occupy the M.TECH seats BEFORE PGECET students
That means GATE rank of 10000 also is preferred over PGECET rank 1.
so long story short …. you need not apply!
