IIIT Tiruchirappalli offers undergraduate programs. The selection of candidates for IIIT Trichy’s BTech program is based on their JEE Main score. The counseling process is managed and regulated by JoSAA, based on which candidates are allotted seats. The seat allotment is based on the college cutoff and the candidate’s preference for courses and colleges.

IIIT Trichy offers two main specializations in its M.Tech program, namely, Computer Science and Engineering and VLSI Systems.
IIIT Trichy M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- Students who are applying for M.Tech must have passed their BE/B.Tech degree from a recognized university with at least 55% aggregate marks in a relevant subject.
IIIT Trichy M.Tech Selection Criteria
- Admission is through a counseling process based on the rank obtained in the GATE Exam.
- Candidates have to select the college at the time of counseling.
- Based on the rank obtained and college selected, seat allotment will be done
- Selected candidates will be intimidated by a call.
- All the selected candidates need to report to the college for further admission process along with valid documents.

- Original Statement of Grades/Marks obtained in the qualifying Examination (UG) (preferably Consolidated Grade/Mark Sheet with all subjects mentioned in it)

- Original Course Completion Certificate for results awaiting candidates
- Original Transfer/Leaving Certificate issued by the institute last studied/attended
- Original Migration Certificate, for other than Tamil Nadu candidates
- Original Certificate of Category (EWS / OBC / SC / ST), if applicable, issued by the competent authority as per the prescribed format (EWS/OBC category certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2022).
- Original Caste Validity certificate for Maharashtra State Candidates, if not available, upload an undertaking as per CCMT format
- OBC undertaking form for OBC candidates
- Original Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) issued by the Medical Board notified under PWD Act
