ParticipantSee its a gamble between certainty and uncertainty. GATE will almost gurantee you an M.Tech seat at least some private college by which you can secure a job. On the other hand, IAS is highly competitiveness with limited number of openings. Parents always want their children to have a save and secure option.
In my opinion, you should take up GATE and on the same time appear for civils first time. And when you are in M.Tech you can definitely be independent and concentrate on Civils again.Nov 09, 2011 at 10:59 pm
