2. Is it possible to continue my work and research work simultaneously?
Yes this also possible. In IITs and NITs you need finish certain time there to be eligible for converting the full time PhD to part time PhD.
For full time PhD Indian Government gives scholarships. So consider it before making a call for converting full time to part time PhD.Hope this helps.
