NIT Hamirpur invites applications for Master of Engineering program in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics &
Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Centre for Material Science & Engineering, Center for Energy and Environment.
Eligibility for Admission: The applicant must have a Bachelor degree in Technology/Engineering/AMIE in appropriate discipline or a Master degree in appropriate discipline for M.Tech. and Bachelor degree in Architecture / Planning / Engineering or AMIE in appropriate discipline or a Master degree in appropriate discipline for M. Arch. with CGPI of 6.75 on 10-point scale or equivalent or 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded.
Admission Procedure: The admission to M.Tech./M. Arch. programs will be based on the valid GATE score of the qualified candidates in appropriate discipline/branch. The performance of candidates appeared for GATE in 2010 shall be evaluated on the basis of letter no. DIR/IITG/28/GATE/2010/1411 dated 22-03-2010.
Ties in GATE score shall be resolved on the basis of the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations.

The applications shall be scrutinized by the respective Departmental Selection Committee (DSC) of the Departments/Centre. The list of short listed candidates shall be displayed on Institute website on: 17-05-2010. (No separate call letter will be issued.)

What does this exactly mean? Our university (University of Kerala) awards marks and we have a CGPA too. I have 66% marks and 6.7 CGPA. Am I eligible to apply? Which is primarily considered, marks or CGPA?
