GATE Exam Dates and Eligibility Criteria 2023: (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national examination conducted jointly by the IISc Bangalore and seven other IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)
GATE 2023 examination will be conducted in February 2023 by IIT Kanpur
Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission to Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering / Technology / Architecture.
GATE 2023 added the two new papers Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) will provide direct benefits to graduates.

GATE 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate who is currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program.
- A candidate who has already completed any government approved degree program in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts is eligible for appearing in the GATE 2022 exam.
- However, the candidates who possess certification from any of the professional societies must ensure that those examinations conducted by the societies are approved by MoE/AICTE/UGC/UPSC as equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. / B.Planning, etc.
- Candidates who have obtained/are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India: Must be currently in the 3rd or higher years or completed their Bachelor’s degree (duration: at least 3 years) in Engineering / Technology / Science / Arts / Commerce.

GATE 2023 Architecture and Planning (AR): New Pattern
- Part A is compulsory for all the candidates.
- Part B contains two optional sections: Part B1 (Architecture) and Part B2 (Planning).
Candidates have to choose any one of these during the examination.
GATE 2023 Paper contains the General Aptitude (GA) section (15 Marks) as it is applicable for all papers of GATE 2023.
GATE 2023 Paper consists of two parts covering the syllabus: Part A (60 marks) and Part B (25 marks).

Choice of Examination City:
A candidate can choose THREE cities from the list of examination cities given above. All three choices must be from the same GATE 2022 zone. GATE 2022 reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing one and allot a city that may not be from any of the choices selected by the candidate.
Changes in GATE 2023 give various options in the selection of subjects with two new subjects introduced this year changes that benefit most of the students moreover, 3rd-year students can also apply for GATE 2023. As GATE score is valid for 3 Years from the date of the result announcement.
