TNEA 2024 – Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions is conducted by Anna University each year for admissions into engineering and related technology courses in the state of Tamil Nadu. There is no admission test for Under Graduate engineering admission in the state, eligible candidates who wish to take admission to UG courses in the state of Tamil Nadu must apply for TNEA 2024. TNEA is purely based on the Merit List basis of Class 12th scores.

TNEA Application Form 2024
TNEA application form has been released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) Chennai in July. The eligible candidates will be able to register for TNEA 2024. Before filling out the TNEA 2024 application form, candidates were advised to check the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the conducting authority. The application process involves TNEA registration, application fee payment, and filling in academic details.
TNEA Steps to fill Application Form 2024
- Visit the official website of TNEA 2024 and selects the “Online Registration” link.
- Register and obtain a Registration number/Login ID and Password
- Fill in personal and academic details (Name, Mobile Number, e-mail ID, Date of birth, Qualifying Examination and Confirm the Password.
- After successfully entering the above data click “save and proceed”.
- After ensuring all the information entered is correct and relevant, submit the application and pay the application fees by debit card, credit card, UPI, and other payment options.
- Take a printout of the filled application form or save it as a soft copy

The candidate who is seeking admission into TNEA 2022 B.E/B.Tech courses and related technical courses must be a native of Tamil Nadu or have completed his/her Intermediate education in Tamil Nadu. In addition to the domicile criteria, the candidate should score at least 45% (for the General category) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12th.
TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2024
- Candidate should score at least 45% (for the General category) and 40% (for Backward Class / SC / ST / SCA) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12th.
- Candidates who have passed 8th, 9th, 10, 11, & 12th Standard from schools situated in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply TNEA 2024
- Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the 8th, 9th, 10, 11, & 12th classes or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. They should produce the Original Nativity Certificate only in electronic form
- There is no age limit to apply TNEA 2024 Exam
- Candidates who want to apply for marine engineering age are older than 25 years and are not eligible to apply
- Children of Central Government Employees / Public Sector or Government recognized Institutions who at the time of submission of application for admission employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years may also apply irrespective of their domicil
TNEA Academic Qualifications 2024
- Candidates must have passed their intermediate (Class 12th) or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects
- The minimum marks required for TNEA admissions is 50% in Class 12th
TNEA Age Criteria 2024
- The applicant must be above the age of 18 years
- The applicant must be below the age of 25 years.
- As per the TNEA rules, age relaxation provision is present for the reserved category.
