MELT SPINNING OF POLYMER 9
Melt Spinning- Polymer Selection and Preparation, equipment, properties and applications of polyester, polyamide and polypropylene fibers.

Unit II

SOLUTION SPINNING OF POLYMERS 9
Solution spinning- Polymer Selection and Preparation, equipment, properties and applications of acrylic, polyurethane and regenerated cellulose fibres.

Unit IV

POLYESTER DYEING 9
Polyester Dyeing: carrier, HTHP – Rapid Dyeing and thermosol methods of dyeing. CD polyester dyeing, micro denier PET dyeing. Practical problems and their solutions. Stripping of dyed PET

Unit V

BLENDS DYEING 9
Dyeing of Polyester Blends: Various shop floor practices of dyeing of polyester/cellulosic, polyester/wool blended fabrics. Practical problems and their solutions. Dyeing of polyester with cationic dyes. Dyeing of Micropolyester fabrics. Dyeing of Nylon and Acrylic Fabrics.

Course Outcomes:

Upon completion of the course, the students will be able to explain

  3. Mass Colouration
  4. Polyester Dyeing.
  5. Blends Dyeing.
