INTRODUCTION TO MULTIMEDIA 6 Definitions, Elements, Multimedia Hardware and Software, Distributed multimedia systems, challenges: security, sharing / distribution, storage, retrieval, processing, computing. Multimedia metadata, Multimedia databases, Hypermedia, Multimedia Learning.

MULTIMEDIA AUTHORING 6 Authoring metaphors, Tools Features and Types: Card and Page Based Tools, Icon and Object Based Tools, Time Based Tools, Cross Platform Authoring Tools, Editing Tools, Painting and Drawing Tools, 3D Modeling and Animation Tools, Image Editing Tools, audio Editing Tools, Digital Movie Tools, Creating interactive presentations, virtual learning, simulations.
