Course Objective:
- To train the students in pre-treatment, dyeing, printing and testing of textile materials
List of Experiments:
- Processing of textile substrates using open vat process
- Processing of textile substrates with Pilot machines
- Printing of cotton fabrics using discharge style
- Pigment printing of cotton fabrics
- Assessment of fastness to wash, rub, light and perspiration
- Assessment of water repellant and flame retardant finishes on finished fabrics
- Measurement of shrinkage in fabrics
- Measurement of Skew and Bow in fabrics
- Measurement of achromatic and chromatic colors using spectrophotometer.
Course Outcome:
Upon completing this practical course, the student would be able to
- Dye the fabric with different types of chemicals and colourants,
- Print the fabric with different types of chemicals and colourants
- Finish the fabric with different types of chemicals and colourants
- Evaluate the fabrics for fastness related properties
