Unit I

Number Systems, Boolean Algebra and Combinational Circuits
Number system, error detection, corrections and codes conversions, Boolean algebra: De-Morgan”s theorem, switching functions and minimisation using K-maps and Quine McCluskey method

Analysis and Design of Synchronous Sequential Circuits

Logic Families and Vhdl
Logic families : RTL ad DTL circuits ,TTL ECL NMOS and CMOS : Introduction to VHDL :Design -combinational logic – Types – Operators – Packages – Sequential circuit – Sub programs – Test benches. (Examples: adders, counters, flipflops, FSM, Multiplexers / Demltiplexers).
