Optical and electron microscopy; SEM, TEM, X-ray scattering from polymers, birefringence, crystallinity by density measurements

Course Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to

  1. Explain the molecular weight of the polymers and its measurement.
  2. Explain the molecular structure of the polymers.
  3. Explain the measurement and analysis of thermal properties of different polymers.
  4. Describe the characterization of textile polymers using chromatographic techniques.
  5. Explain the characterization of textile polymers for morphology and crystallinity.
