SOIL AND FOUNDATIONS 7 Soil investigations including geo-technical information. Soil / ground improvement techniques. Deep excavations. Outline of foundation systems for special conditions and situations. Foundations for multi-storeyed, tall and super tall buildings. Basement construction and water proofing.

Unit III
CONSTRUCTION PRACTICE 11 Modern Construction Materials. Manufacture, storage, transportation and erection of precast component forms. Types of moulds and scaffoldings in construction. Safety in erection and dismantling of constructions .Formwork systems (including slip-form), temporary works and enabling works. Insitu/ field tests for materials.
