INTRODUCTION TO ART 9 Definition of art, need for art, role of art. Art, reality, perception, representation. Appreciating art in terms of form (means, types, tools and techniques, vocabulary of art – principles and elements), content (story conveyed, meaning) and context ( the situation and time of production of art).

CHARACTERISTICS AND APPRECIATION OF ART – POSTMODERN 9 Postmodernism in Art. Pop art. Op art. Outline of new forms and media in art from mid 20th century.
