Angular Measurement:

  1. Measurement of angles using universal bevel protractor to an accuracy of 5′.
  2. Using combination set
    1. Measure angle in the given component with protractor head
    2. Find or mark the center of the given cylindrical job using center head.
    3. Check and report the square ness of the given specimen using square head.
  3. Measure the angle of the surface using Sine bar and Slip Gauges.

Unit III

Measurement Of Geometric Parameters And Calibration Of Instruments:

  1. Straightness – Measurement of concavity / convexity in a surface using Toolmaker’s straight edge and feeler gauge.
  2. Checking the parallelism of two planes using dial indicator.
  3. Testing circularity of die set pillars using v-block and dial indicators.
  4. Measurement of Run-out on
    1. External cylindrical surface
    2. external conical surface using dial gauge
    3. Checking of Perpendicularity of drill head guide
    4. Checking of squareness of clamping surface of table to its axis.
  5. Measurement of axial slip using dial indicators.
  6. Calibration and adjusting of micrometers/ Vernier caliper using slip gauges.
