- Students should be able to verify various quality aspects of soil and water studied in theory by performing experiments in lab.
- Identification of rocks and minerals
- Collection and processing of soil samples
- Determination of soil moisture, EC and pH
- Field density determination by Core Cutter and Sand Replacement method
- Specific gravity determination by Pycnometer
- Textural analysis of soil by International Pipette method
- Grain size analysis by using Mechanical shaker
- Determination of Organic carbon
- Estimation of Gypsum requirements
Course Outcome:
- Students know the techniques to determine various physical and chemical properties of soil that are applicable for agriculture and irrigation by conducting appropriate tests.
