Route of entry to human system, recognition, evaluation and control of basic hazards, concepts of dose response relationship, bio-chemical action of toxic substances. Concept of threshold, limit values.

Need, selection, supply, use, care and maintenance, Personal protective devices for head, ear, face, eye, foot, knee and body protection, Respiratory personal protective devices.

Monitoring for Safety, Health
Introduction to Occupational safety, Health and Environment management system – Concepts of Bureau of Indian standards on safety and Health: 14489-1998 and 15001-2000, ILO and EPA standards.
Course Outcome:

- Able to apply and practice the protective equipments and monitor safety and health.
