Course Objective:
- To provide hands on experience with power electronic converters and testing.

- Gate Pulse Generation using R, RC and UJT.
- Characteristics of SCR and TRIAC
- Characteristics of MOSFET and IGBT
- AC to DC half controlled converter
- AC to DC fully controlled Converter
- Step down and step up MOSFET based choppers
- IGBT based single phase PWM inverter
- IGBT based three phase PWM inverter
- AC Voltage controller
- Switched mode power converter.
- Simulation of PE circuits (10 and 30 semi converters, 10 and 30 full converters, DC-DC converters, AC voltage controllers).
- Characteristics of GTO and IGCT.
- Characteristics of PMBLDC motor
Course Outcome:
- Ability to practice and understand converter and inverter circuits and apply software for engineering problems.
