Course Objective:
- To train the students on testing of plastic materials

- Preparation of test specimen using Injection moulding, Contour cutting, and Contour punching.
- Determination of Rate of flow of plastics (Melt flow index)
- Determination of Tensile Properties of rigid and flexible plastic materials
- Determine the flexural properties of rigid Plastic materials
- Determine the compressive strength of rigid plastics and polymeric foams.
- Determine the compression set for rubber materials
- Determine the hardness (Shore A and D, Barcol and Rockwell) of plastic materials
- Determine the abrasion resistance of Plastic materials
- Determine the impact strength (Izod and Charpy) of Plastic materials
- Determine the Density, moisture content and water absorption for plastic materials.
Course Outcome:
Upon completion of this course, the students would be able to

- Prepare specimen by injection moulding and contour cutting
