Introduction to PLC: Microprocessor, I/O Ports, Isolation, Filters, Drivers, Microcontrollers/DSP, PLC/DDC- PLC Construction: What is a PLC, PLC Memories, PLC I/O, , PLC Special I/O, PLC Types.

Unit II

PLC INSTRUCTIONS
PLC Basic Instructions: PLC Ladder Language- Function block Programming- Ladder/Function Block functions- PLC Basic Instructions, Basic Examples (Start Stop Rung, Entry/Reset Rung)-Configuration of Sensors, Switches, Solid State Relays-Interlock examples- Timers, Counters, Examples.

COMMUNICATION OF PLC AND SCADA

Stepper Motor Control- Elevator Control-CNC Machine Control- conveyor control-Interlocking Problems

Skill Development Activities (Group Seminar/Mini Project/Assignment/Content Preparation / Quiz/ Surprise Test / Solving Gate Questions/ Etc)

  1. Market survey of the recent PLCs and comparison of their features.
  2. Summarize the PLC standards
