SYNTHESIS OF NANOMATERIALS 8 Bottom up and Top-down approach for obtaining nano materials – Precipitation methods – sol gel technique – high energy ball milling, CVD and PVD methods, gas phase condensation, magnetron sputtering and laser deposition methods – laser ablation, sputtering.

Unit IV
NANO STRUCTURES AND CHARACTERIZATION TECHNIQUES 10 Classifications of nanomaterials – Zero dimensional, one-dimensional and two-dimensional nanostructures- Kinetics in nanostructured materials- multilayer thin films and superlattice- clusters of metals, semiconductors and nanocomposites. Spectroscopic techniques, Diffraction methods, thermal analysis method, BET analysis method.

Course Outcomes:
- Understand the basic properties such as structural, physical, chemical properties of nanomaterials and their applications.
- Able to acquire knowledge about the different types of nano material synthesis
- Describes about the shape, size,structure of composite nano materials and their interference

- Develop a deeper knowledge in the application of nanomaterials in different fields.
