Course Objectives:
- To learn about various force, pressure and vibration measuring sensors.
- To learn about various Temperature, light and magnetic field measuring sensors
- To learn about various displacement and speed measuring sensors.

SENSORS AND INSTRUMENTATION
- Determination of Load, Torque and Force using Strain Gauge.
- Determination of the characteristics of Pressure Sensor and Piezoelectric Force Sensor
- Determination of Displacement using LVDT.
- Determine the Characteristics of Various Temperature Sensors.
- Determine the Characteristics of Various Light Detectors (Optical Sensors).
- Distance Measurement using Ultrasonic and Laser Sensor.
- Determine angular velocity of gyroscope,
- Vibration measurement using Accelerometer.
- Direction measurement using Magnetometer.
- Speed, Position and Direction Measurement Using Encoders.
- Force measurement using 3 axis force sensor.
- Force Measurement using tactile sensors.
- Data acquisition, visualization and analysis of signals.
Course Outcomes:
Upon the completion of this course, the students will be able to;
- Demonstrate the various contact and non-contact sensors.
- Analyze and Identify appropriate sensors for given applications.
- Create a sensor system for given requirements.
