Course Objective:

  • To focus on the implementation of arithmetic operations using microprocessors and microcontroller.
  • To simulate assembly language programs.
  • To implement various on-chip and off-chip interfacing and algorithms

  1. Simple arithmetic operations: addition / subtraction / multiplication / division.
  2. Programming with control instructions
    1. Ascending / Descending order, Maximum / Minimum of numbers
    2. Programs using Rotate instructions.
    3. Hex / ASCII / BCD code conversions
  3. Interface Experiments: with 8085
    1. A/D Interfacing. and D/A Interfacing.
  4. Traffic light controller
  5. I/O Port / Serial communication
  6. Programming Practices with Simulators/Emulators/open source
  7. Read a key interface display
  8. Demonstration of basic instructions with 8051 Micro controller execution, including:
    1. Conditional jumps, looping
    2. Calling subroutines
  9. Programming I/O Port 8051
    1. study on interface with A/D and D/A
    2. study on interface with DC and AC motor
  10. Mini project development with processors

Course Outcome:

Upon Completion of the course, the students will be able to:

  • CO1 Solve the arithmetic operations using microcontrollers and various on-chip and off-chip interfacing and algorithms.
  • CO2 Design the digital and analog hardware interface for microcontroller-based systems
