Course Objective:
- To train the students on construction of different types of garments
List of Experiments:
- Formation of Stitch classes.
- Sewing practice of seam types – superimposed seam, lapped seam, bound seam and flat seam.
- Sewing of plackets
- Sewing of pockets
- Sewing of different types of sleeves
- Sewing of different types of collars
- Assembling of various garment components using appropriate seams
- Practice in Button hole and button stitch machines
- Practice in Feed-off the arm machine
- Practice in Flat lock machine
- Study of plain, rib and interlock circular knitting machines
- Study of flat knitting machines
Course Outcome:
Upon completion of this practical course, the students can
- Carry out different types of stitching, button holing and button stitching and would have hands on experience on different machines used for garment manufacture
- Understand drafting and draping
