Course Objective:

The major objectives of this course is

  • To develop students” awareness – on psychology, learning behavior and usage of perception effectively.
  • To learn to use the various kinds of thinking in a formal context.
  • To critically evaluate content and comprehend the message on the bases of perception, personality and intelligence.

Sensory and Perceptual Processes
Some general properties of Senses: Visual system – the eye, colour vision – Auditory system -Hearing, listening, Sounds – Other senses – Selective attention; physiological correlates of attention; Internal influences on perception learning – set – motivation and emotion – cognitive styles; External influences on perception figure and ground separation – movement -organization – illusion; Internal- external interactions: Constancy – Depth Perception- Binocular and Monocular Perception; Perceptual defense and Perceptual vigilance; Sensory deprivation -Sensory bombardment; ESP – Social Perception.
