SIMPLE AND COMPOUND STRESSES 9 Stresses in simple and compound bars – Thermal stresses – Elastic constants – Thin cylindrical and spherical shells – Biaxial state of stress – Principal stresses and principal planes – Mohrs circle of stresses – Torsion on circular shafts.
