Course Objectives:
The objective of this course is to educate the students on the aspects of maintenance of vehicle and subsystems.
List of Experiments:
- Study on layout of automotive service station.
- Tightening and adjustment of wheel bearing.
- Adjustment of pedal play in clutch, brake, hand brake lever and steering wheel orientation.
- Wheel alignment in four wheelers.
- Minor and major tune up of gasoline and diesel engines.
- Calibration of Fuel injection pump
- Fault diagnosis and service of Electrical system like battery, starting system, charging system, lighting system.
- Removal and fitting of tyre.
- Engine fault diagnosis using scan tool
- Fault diagnosis of brake system Air bleeding from hydraulic brakes.
- Performance test on two wheeler chassis dynamometer.
Course Outcomes:
At the end of this course, students will be able to
- Describe the layout of an automotive service station
- Demonstrate the skills on the adjustment of clutch, brake, hand brake lever and steering wheel orientation

- Trouble shoot the fault in electrical systems
