Course Objective:
- To train the students on construction of different types of garments
List of Experiments:
- Sewing practice of different stitch classes
- Sewing practice of seam types – superimposed seam, lapped seam, bound seam and flat seam.
- Sewing of different types of plackets
- Sewing of different types of pockets
- Sewing of different types of sleeves
- Sewing of different types of collars and cuff
- Sewing of different types of neckline finishes
- Sewing of different types of pleats, tucks and gathers
- Practice in Button hole and button stitch machines
- Practice in Feed-off the arm machine
- Attachment of trims with fabric with different presser foot.
Course Outcome:
Upon completion of this practical course, the students can
- Construct samples for various types of seams and stitches
- Construct samples for various types of garment components
- Construct samples for various dart equivalents
- Carry out button holing and button stitching and would have hands on experience on different machines used for garment manufacture.
- Construct samples for attachment of trims
