SEISMIC DESIGN CODES AND BUILDING CONFIGURATION Seismic design code provisions. Introduction to Indian codes. Building configuration – scale of building, size, horizontal and vertical plane, building proportions, symmetry of building – torsion, reentrant corners, irregularities in buildings like short storeys, short columns, etc.
