The detailed syllabus for Computer Aided Drafting and Modeling Laboratory B.Tech 2016-2017 (R13) secondsem is as follows
OBJECTIVES:
To introduce different experiments to test basic understanding of physics concepts applied in optics, thermal physics and properties of matter.
LIST OF EXPERIMENTS (Any FIVE Experiments)
- Determination of Young‟s modulus by uniform bending method
- Determination of band gap of a semiconductor
- Determination of Coefficient of viscosity of a liquid –Poiseuille‟s method
- Determination of Dispersive power of a prism – Spectrometer
- Determination of thickness of a thin wire – Air wedge method
- Determination of Rigidity modulus – Torsion pendulum
OUTCOMES:
- The students will have the ability to test materials by using their knowledge of applied physics principles in optics and properties of matter.
LIST OF EQUIPMENT FOR A BATCH OF 30 STUDENTS:
- Traveling microscope, meter scale, Knife edge, weights
- Band gap experimental set up
CHEMISTRY LABORATORY – II
OBJECTIVES:
To make the student acquire practical skills in the wet chemical and instrumental
methods for quantitative estimation of hardness, alkalinity, metal ion content, corrosion in metals and cement analysis.
LIST OF EXPERIMENTS (Any FIVE Experiments)
- Determination of alkalinity in water sample
- Determination of total, temporary & permanent hardness of water by EDTA method
- Estimation of copper content of the given solution by EDTA method
- Estimation of iron content of the given solution using potentiometer
- Estimation of sodium present in water using flame photometer
- Corrosion experiment – weight loss method
- Conductometric precipitation titration using BaCl2 and Na2SO4
- Determination of CaO in Cement.

OUTCOMES:
The students will be conversant with hands-on knowledge in the quantitative chemical analysis of water quality related parameters, corrosion measurement and cement analysis.
