The detailed syllabus for Communication System Laboratory B.Tech (R13) fifthsem is as follows
OBJECTIVES: The student should be made to:
- To visualize the effects of sampling and TDM
- To Implement AM & FM modulation and demodulation
- To implement PCM & DM
- To implement FSK, PSK and DPSK schemes
- To implement Equalization algorithms
- To implement Error control coding schemes
LIST OF EXPERIMENTS:
- Signal Sampling and reconstruction
- Time Division Multiplexing
- AM Modulator and Demodulator
- FM Modulator and Demodulator
- Pulse Code Modulation and Demodulation
- Delta Modulation and Demodulation
- Observation (simulation) of signal constellations of BPSK, QPSK and QAM
- Line coding schemes
- FSK, PSK and DPSK schemes (Simulation)
- Error control coding schemes – Linear Block Codes (Simulation)
- Communication link simulation
- Equalization – Zero Forcing & LMS algorithms(simulation)
TOTAL: 45 PERIODS
OUTCOMES: At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- Simulate end-to-end Communication Link
- Demonstrate their knowledge in base band signaling schemes through implementation of FSK, PSK and DPSK
- Apply various channel coding schemes & demonstrate their capabilities towards the improvement of the noise performance of communication system
- Simulate & validate the various functional modules of a communication system
LAB REQUIREMENTS FOR A BATCH OF 30 STUDENTS (3 STUDENTS PER EXPERIMENT):
- Kits for Signal Sampling, TDM, AM, FM, PCM, DM and Line Coding Schemes
- CROs – 15 Nos
- MATLAB / SCILAB or equivalent software package for simulation experiments
- PCs – 10 Nos
