OBJECTIVE:
To impart the knowledge of various aspects of Creativity, Innovation and New Product Development
UNIT I : INTRODUCTION [9 Hours]
The process of technological innovation – factors contributing to successful technological innovation – the need for creativity and innovation – creativity and problem solving – brain storming – different techniques
UNIT II : PROJECT SELECTION AND EVALUATION [9 Hours]
Collection of ideas and purpose of project – Selection criteria – screening ideas for new products(evaluation techniques)
UNIT III : NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT [9 Hours]
Research and new product development – Patents – Patent search – Patent laws –
International code for patents – Intellectual property rights (IPR).
TOTAL : 45 PERIODS
OUTCOME:
On completion of the course, students will have gained knowledge on various issues related to Patents, Quality, Creativity, Innovation, New Product Development, Planning and Evaluation.
